RV Park Review: Maple Grove Resort ~ Randle, WA

I would like to welcome new “Followers” Chuck and Anneke.  THANK YOU for joining my group and I appreciate the time you give to reading about our RV lifestyle.

This was our second trip to Maple Grove Resort, the first being back in 2005.  This park is in our K/M membership program.  We selected this park on this occasion because it is close to Tumwater and we were just getting the Grands out for a weekend trip.

Maple Grove Resort is in the small town of Randle, Washington, approximately 50 miles East of I-5 on Hwy. 12.  It sports a great location because it is sort of in a triangle between Mt. Rainier, Mt. St. Helen’s and Mt. Adams.  If you are looking for outdoor adventure, visiting any of those 3 mountains will give it to you.

We parked the RV by the office/clubhouse building and went to check-in.  We had made reservations here about 2 months ago.  The woman at the desk was very friendly and had all of our paperwork in order.  We were allowed to circle through the park and select a site of our choosing.

They do have some 50 amp electric sites here, and we selected #2 right near a large grass area where the girls could play.  There are 54 sites with full hook-ups and 65 sites with partial hook-ups.  Plus, there are 20 dry camping sites back in the woodsy area.

This is our site, #2, with a nice view of the mountains.DSCF5559

The sites are not wide, but they are long.  Our row of 50 amp sites were back-in, but the other full hook-up sites were long pull-throughs.  The roads by the RV sites are gravel/dirt and are a little bumpy in spots, but not bad.  The roads in other areas of the park are paved asphalt.

There is also a 9-hole golf course at the park, open to the public.  It was a beautiful course and well maintained.  We do not play, but it was nice to look at.  You can rent carts at the clubhouse.

The girls rode their bikes along with me while I took my camera for a walk so I could take some pics of the park.  There is an indoor pool that is nice and clean and the water is warm enough to enjoy.  The clubhouse had a library room with puzzles and games to borrow.  There is also a lounge area for watching TV and a large gathering area with a kitchen and tables.  They host Bingo, Bunco, pot-lucks, Ice Cream Socials and movie nights here.   There is a small café on the property and we enjoyed a pancake breakfast on Sunday.

There is a small…very small, laundry room near the front of the park.  There are also 2 restroom buildings with a keyless entry, but I had neglected to get the “secret code” to enter so I could not get a photo of that.  The restroom in the clubhouse building, however, was spotless.

Toward the back of the resort are the woodsy, dry camping sites.  There were a few RV’s there but mainly the sites were unoccupied.  There is also a very nice playground for the kids.  Zoey and Mackenzie loved it.  In the middle of the park is a nice pond for fishing or just to sit by and enjoy.  The bridge you see in the pic goes over the Cowlitz River.

We were able to stay at Maple Grove resort free of charge because this is in our home membership program and we pay annual dues.  Members of Resorts of Distinction, Coast to Coast and RPI are welcomed to stay also.  I asked at the office about availability for the general public and was told, if space is available, the general public can stay for a fee of $35.00 per day.  RV’s up to 40 feet can be accommodated.  Pets are permitted.

Peak season here is:  May 1 to September 30

They have WiFi here for $1.08 per day and it worked great!  Our AT&T wouldn’t work here.  We went over on Friday to pay for the WiFi and they said you can only buy one day at a time.  How stupid is that we wondered?  So, every day we had to troop back over to the office to buy another day.  That is how we got messed up on Saturday and couldn’t get online….the office closed early and we missed our chance.  They should really change that system in our opinion.

We will certainly stay here again in the future.  We look forward to exploring the area in greater depth.  K/M Resorts has several resorts in Washington State and we plan to see the ones we haven’t gotten to yet.  Hope you enjoyed the tour of Maple Grove Resort.

Our rating based upon 5 star system = ****

Until next time….so long for now!

Thank you for the review, Margie. We want to stay at this park again sometime. As you said, the location is great and it's a nice park. We stayed there a long time ago and Dave and Jonathan enjoyed playing golf there. I remember that it cost $25 for the general public at that time. But that was quite a few years ago, back when none of us had even heard of wifi!

We drove through the park last month and we got 2-3 bars of service on our Verizon phones.

Yes, Carol. While at Maple Grove we saw people talking on their cell phones...Verizon. AT&T is just dead in this area.

We belong to K/M Resorts so this was good for us to see. We have used Beachwood up in Birch Bay and Ponderosa Pines near Cheney. This one looks like a nice one to visit.

Safe travels to Idaho next week.

Come prepared with hot dogs and buns, as the chalets are equipped with a barbeque and shower facilities as well.
One of the key reasons for this effect is that these types of music utilize a tempo between 55 and 85 beats per minute.

The only issue I have is that they really should have found a way
to double face the can, so it will work better in store shelves.
