Slow Sunday And Some Family Time

I would like to welcome my newest “Follower” Dave to my RV blog.  I appreciate your attention to this blog and THANK YOU very much.

Sunday’s are usually our slowest day of the week, as it should be.  Today was no exception.  We started our morning with a 3.8-mile walk and then ate breakfast and then went off to church.  After returning home around 12:15 we ate a simple lunch and then checked out the inbox for e-mail.

We got a message from some friends that are touring Alaska this summer and it included 59 photos.  That brought back memories of our trip in 2006 except the weather in these pics didn’t appear to look that great.  Maybe we were just lucky, but when we went for 2 months in 2006 the weather was fantastic.  We had mostly sunny days and the skies were clear.  Anyway, John and Linda seem to be having another great time in spite of dreary weather.

Our daughter, Stephanie, phoned us after lunch to invite us over for dinner.  Of course we said yes.  That gave me the afternoon to do some laundry, read and then plan our menus for August.  I got some supplies ready for working on the photo album I’m doing for Zoey.  I hope to get back to that tomorrow.

We got over to the kid’s house around 4:00 and Mackenzie and Zoey wanted Bruce and I to play outside with them.  We went to the corner park for a few minutes and then they wanted to go back and play on the trampoline.  I got the girls out for a few minutes so I could do some jumping around on that thing myself.

I’m not real good at this and don’t do anything except jump up and down.DSCF5823

Mackenzie wanted me to do a flip….yeah, right!DSCF5829

Stephanie planned grilled corn on the cob, salmon and sweet potato fries for dinner.  Some of our favorites things!  We also enjoyed some strawberry shortcake for dessert.  Son-in-law, Darin, is a good grill cook and he cooked the salmon to perfection.

Grilling keeps the heat outdoors, but we’re probably the only RVer’s without one!DSCF5834
After dinner and dessert were finished we played a game of Rummikub.  Everyone in the family likes that game and it is an easy one for the girls to play, too.  Our family has always been game players and our granddaughter’s are following in that tradition.

Papa helps Zoey by partnering up with her.  They won the game!DSCF5841

We called it an evening around 6:30 and made our way back to the motorhome.  It may only be an RV….but we call it Home Sweet Home.

No babysitting this week and we are looking forward to that break in a very busy schedule.  We are already looking forward to September 7th when we begin our drive south to Pismo Beach, California.

Until next time…..so long for now!

Looked to me like you really knew what you were doing on that trampoline! I would have loved to have seen a back-flip though. Nothing better than a Sunday dinner with your family!

Margie, one of the reasons that I like your blog is that you document normal activities but you make them look so special and like so much fun! I'm not sure any of the rest of us would have thought to post a picture of ourselves jumping on the trampoline. Well, actually, I haven't jumped on a trampoline since I was in high school!

It's a pleasure to read about your daily adventures and your time with your family!

Great fun, I would probably break my neck on a trampoline now, you make it look easy, What a great day, we missed not having the Grandboy around, but he spent most of July here and the vacation week, so his Mom needs some time too. Have fun, be safe out there. Sam & Donna.

In my world - salmon and grilled corn = YES.

Jumping on a trampoline - NO!

You are a better woman than I am friend!

I got so frustrated with my little gas grill that I threw it in the garbage several months ago. So, you are not alone. :)

I love the picture of you jumping on the trampoline! If you don't want to do flips, you could try the Texas "T" :)

Maybe more of those excellent grilled dinners will convince you to invest in a nice little bbq?
Looks like a nice relaxing day for sure, keep up the trampoline work, soon you will be doing backflips on that thing! LOL
Cheers!

What a fun day you had. A little time for yourself and then time with the family. Enjoy your time with them while you are in the area.

We have missed our family this is the longest we have been away.
