Rain, Rain Go Away

Neither rain, nor sleet.......and however the rest of the ditty goes.....can keep us from our appointed "Muffin Day" at McDonald's.  We woke up this morning to the 6:30 alarm clock and some loud claps of thunder.  The thunder didn't last but a few minutes but the rain was relentless.

Wednesday is one of our "Muffin Days" at McDonald's and we would not let a little bit of rain keep us from our breakfast routine.  After all, we are from the rainy Pacific Northwest.  You may have heard that it can rain a little bit up there.  The rain was heavy enough this morning that we did cancel plans for our 1-hour walk but after the rest of our routine, we drove over to the Pismo Beach McDonald's.  I took a picture of Bruce getting ready to eat his breakfast and read the USA Today.

We had put Annie in the car along with our large picnic cooler.  NO...we were not going out for a picnic today.   We were driving down to Santa Maria and the Costco store there.  I wanted to buy some fresh salmon and catfish.  Bruce wanted to go to the AAA office and get some maps for our trip east at the end of March.  Mission was accomplished and we couldn't resist a hot dog lunch at Costco.  $1.50 for the dog and a drink....you can't beat the price.

It rained all the time we were in Santa Maria and all the way back home.  Santa Maria is 16 miles south of Pismo Beach.  Once we got back to our RV park, I had Bruce stop the car in the entry drive so I could take a picture of some of the empty sites.  Once this storm began in earnest yesterday, a lot of the RVer's left.  We have nowhere to go right now, so we're just sticking it out.  The storms will all blow through eventually and sunshine will rule the central coast once again!

Here in our area, we have not heard of any weather related catastrophe.  Most of the rain or flood damage seems to be south of us in Los Angeles and Orange Counties.  There were devastating wild fires in the hillside areas of L.A. county last year and that is resulting in flooding and landslide damage from this storm.  The Orange County town of Sunset Beach was hit with a small tornado.  The Huntington Harbor community had some damage by the heavy winds that tossed around some small watercraft and damaged homes and stores.

Since the weather isn't cooperating with much in the way of sightseeing, we have been sticking close to our RV home.  Once the storms are over, we'll get out and enjoy the area again.

How is the weather treating the rest of you?

Until next time......so long for now!

It has been raining here all day. Just like you all we didn't let it stop us from enjoying the fellowship of a group of full-timers at Vallarta's Mexican Restaurant. Tonight it is raining and windy. I hate the wind.

Glad you got your muffin at McDonalds and hopefully your rain will be ending very soon.

By the way, I love the picture of Pismo Beach.

It hasn't been that great around here either, but we're not getting the amount of rain the Los Angeles area is getting. I agree with you about the hot dog and coke at Costco - it's pretty hard to beat that price for lunch!

Weather here in New Jersey is in the 40's. Great after the extreme cold we have been dealing with. That cold spell sure hurt the propane budget.

I am so relieved to hear you are not in the midst of the problems with the rain a little south of you.

just for you info there is a Costco in San Luis Obispo off Los Osos Valley Road. Closer to you than Santa Maria.

Thanks for the tip, Anonymous! We did not know of that Costco location. We're going up that way to the Petco for Annie's grooming soon and we'll check it out!

Thanks for stopping by and reading my blog, it is always appreciated.

We can not control the weather or/and the time...so I do not waste energy on these two ,just go along with it and enjoy.
