A Scrapbooking Hobby

Just like folks that live in "normal" homes, we RVer's enjoy our hobbies and take them along with us when we are on the road. Our RV home is "normal" to us, but does not have the roomy spaces a sticks and bricks home has. Never the less, I was determined to bring along my tools, supplies and accessories I needed to create scrapbook albums for the "Grands".

When I'm not using the items for this scrapbook hobby, I store them down in the basement of our motorhome. They fit into 2 large Rubbermaid bins with tight lids. I bought 2 of these large tote bags from Creative Memories and they hold everything I need except my Cricket Machine and my stacks of acid free paper. Those things I store in my bedroom closet. This week I began work on Zoey's album to try and catch up to current times. I am only 1 year behind! This is my mess....er, I mean work, on our dining table. I use several different paper punch designs, stickers, die cuts, decorative papers, and lots of other things in my work.
Here I am working my magic on Zoey's album. I'm not cleaning this up today and we'll just have to eat our dinner in front of the TV. I'll continue to work again tomorrow.

Here are just a few of my boxes of acid free paper and some assorted supplies. I have so much paper left over from our days in our old house, I won't have to buy any for a couple of years at least.
I began this scrapbooking hobby in 1993. Back in those days we were traveling a great deal in our motorhome and finding proper supplies for my hobby was nearly impossible. Today you can find good scrapbooking stores in practically every town you go to. Plus, if you can find a Michael's or Joann's craft store they also have plenty of supplies. To date, I've created over 20 albums and since we take a lot of photos of the "Grands", I think I'll be working on more albums for a long time.
So, what hobbies do you enjoy?
Until next time.....so long for now!

One of our hobbies is reading your blog! Well, actually a lot of peoples' blogs. OItherwise, it's diong nearly anything graphic on the computer. We make our scrapbooks there, we do a newsletter for the SKP Chapter 21 (just starting that this month), we read, Suzy crochets, and we both like to cook. Most of that doesn't take any extra space, and moves esaily from motorhome to park trailer.

I do the same thing - only with cards! I am just starting to plan out this years Christmas card. Hobbies are great - Donald is a whiz at any crosswords - in particular he saves up the newspaper ones. I have been thinking about hobbies for some time to "go on the road" and my card making will be a good fit! Take care Margie!

Paulette's a scrapbooker too, Margie. She really enjoys it and brings a few of her supplies from home each year when we travel. I pretty much stick to photography and reading and blogging, of course.

Never got into scrapbooking...one of my hobbies is genealogy. I did make books for each of my children years ago. It had the genealogy in it, but also lots of pics. All I need is my laptop on the road to continue my genealogy. I also love photography and my photos can be stored on line. I'm thinking of trying beading...like Linda (of Howard'n'Linda) does. I do love to crochet....so I'll probably continue that when we are on the road. Oh...BTW....Margie...you should use the pic of yourself you have on this blog message--the one of you sitting at the table with all your scrapbooking stuff. You look GREAT. You are a lot thinner than your blog photo shows.
