Weekend In Long Beach

Would you believe we finally got the rest of the parts installed for our back-up monitor?  Hard to believe, but it is true.  On our way to Long Beach, Washington for a weekend trip with the granddaughters, we stopped at I-5 Uhlmann RV and they finished the job in about 3 minutes.  And the best part is…..it worked just like it was supposed to.  Amazing.

We arrived at the Pacific Holiday RV Resort in Long Beach about 1 pm today.  We got settled into our site and, of course, the Grands were anxious to check out the beach.  (I’ll post an RV park review before we leave on Monday).  We took Annie for a quick walk and then headed on down to see the ocean.

Due to the fact that Mackenzie is still recovering from a bad virus, I wouldn’t let them get wet.  It was extremely windy and cool at the beach, but then it usually is around here.   We have come to Long Beach twice before this visit.  Once we rented a beach house with Stephanie and her family and came for several days (2003) and the second time was in our motorhome with Dad (2006).

The beach wasn’t very crowded.  There were a few kite flyer’s hanging around and a few cars driving by.  You can drive on this part of the beach.

After about 20 minutes the girls wanted to go back to the RV park and ride bikes.  Maybe the fresh air and exercise will wear them out and they’ll sleep really good tonight.  Ya think?  (I hope)

The roads in the park are wide and level for bike riding.DSCF6102
We’ll be here for 3 nights and then will head back to Tumwater on Monday morning.  Rain has been in the forecast for Sunday, but we hope that changes.  Keeping our fingers crossed on that one!  Saturday we’ll be going into the town to see what is going on for Kite Festival Weekend.

Until next time……so long for now!

I could have kept my daughter out of the water, but the boys would have found a way to "accidentally" get wet!

Your first photo is so cool with the girls wending their way through the dune grass with their arms in the air! Good job, Margie. :)

Fun day! We wouldn't have wanted to stay on a cool windy beach either! Back to the RV Park and back to the RV! Looking forward to your Kite Festival story.
