Dancing Through My Day

I’ve had some problems getting recent comments published.  Mainly a few that were left yesterday evening.  So, if you left a comment and you don’t see it yet….the problem has been reported to Blogger.  Who knows if things will get solved.  It did the last time I had this problem.  Sorry.

This morning we reported for babysitting duty promptly at 6:50.  After our breakfast of oatmeal, I got the girls ready for the day.  When I was in Zoey’s bedroom with her, she wanted her CD player turned on.  I popped in a Disney CD with some lively music and Zoey and I began dancing and getting a little bit of jumping around exercise.  OK…Zoey mainly jumped on the bed….but it is still active motion and exercise.  Right?

After about 20 minutes of dancing around the room, we got ready to pack up our picnic lunch and head on out for the day.  We were going to a nearby park on Black Lake in Olympia, WA.  Kenneydell Park is less than 5 miles from the house.

We found a nice picnic table and set out our lunch.  After eating, we walked down a beautiful forest path to the beach on Black Lake.

We hadn’t brought swim suits for the girls, but I let them wade in the water anyway…..the water was cold!  They gingerly stepped in…..and then went a bit further.  They got the bottoms of their shorts wet, but that’s OK.  Next time we’ll pack swim suits in the tote bag.

Black Lake is beautiful.  Those are the Black Hills and the Capitol Forest in the distance.  There are some lovely lake front homes to see and a lot of folks enjoy water skiing and fishing on this lake.

There is a small public beach at Kenneydell Park.  Today there were a few sunbathers and kids playing by the water.

I bought the girls Bug Keepers over at the Dollar Tree.  They brought them along today and prepared them with some grass and twigs for the bugs to sit on.  They didn’t go digging around in the dirt looking for any bugs though.  Maybe next time.

Next stop at the park was the playground area.  They had a nice climbing apparatus here and the girls enjoyed climbing and hanging all over that.  They had some tube slides and those were fun.

It was a good day.  Tomorrow we are off to IKEA and Camping World.  The girls want to eat lunch in the small cafe at IKEA so we’ll do that.

Until next time…..so long for now!

What a fun day the four of you had at the park! It's nice to be able to enjoy places like that and not be on a time schedule. Good job, grandparents!

IKEA is always a fun place to eat and good food, too.

Looks like a cross between the 'The Twist' & 'The Watusi' with a little bit of 'Foxtrot' thrown in for good measure. Great fun way to rev up the blood flow & oxyinate the system. Liked the jungle looking forest too.

Looks like Grandma really got into the morning dance session, the kids have so much energy it is just amazing, also cold water has a differant meaning to kids, Adam, went swimming at the Lake last year on our last warm weekend camping trip in October, I'll bet the water temp was 65degrees , but that doesn't slow a kid down. Have fun at your nre job. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna.

Oh what fun! LOVED the bedroom dancing pics. Bet they will tell their friends all about it. If the mom does it, it's dorky, If their Grandma does it, it's cool!

I bought those same bug keepers and have them in the motorhome, waiting for the 6 and 7 month old granddaughters to grow up enough to use them. The almost 2 year old is getting interested in things like that now, so he can use his this weekend.
