Happy New Year

Happy New Year! Thank you all for the warm wishes over the holidays. They were difficult, but, we spent time with very good friends that took us in there home like family. We enjoyed many moments together as a family and made the best of it.

The "grands" (as mom would call them) are doing well and staying busy. They still have lot's of questions and we do our best to work through them. They are drowning themselves in school, swimming lessons (for Zoey) and both in gymnastics.

Thanksgiving weekend in Victoria, Canada

A lot of you have asked about the "furry" baby.  Annie is doing ok.  She has had some kidney issues requiring some vet attention and extra medication.  However, she is getting better and we are trying to make the most of our time with her.  It is a huge adjustment with her living with us.  She was so used to being with mom and dad 24/7.  We are gone a lot during the day, but we try to spoil her when we can.  Mackenzie has taken over a lot of her care.  Annie gets very excited when Mackenzie comes home.  She does sleep a lot, but the vet says that is normal.

A lovely lady named Darlene told me that they are looking over the memorial site in Pismo Beach where mom and dad where.  I thought it was so nice of her to send us pictures and she also gathered up the notes left behind and is sending them to us.  Very sweet!

Hope you all have a Happy New Year!  Love your families!  Stephanie

Thanks for your post, Stephanie. I'm glad that things are falling into place for your family and that Annie is fitting in. I'm sorry that she's had some medical problems. Dogs are so adaptable. As long as she knows she's loved, she should be able to get thru the long days without you. They sleep through them.

Take care of yourself and your family and know that the blogging and RVing communities are thinking of you and wishing you all the best.

Happy New Year!

Sorry for being absent..I needed to pull myself together..and my mom was having major health issues.
I have thought of your mom during the holidays..before eating something I shouldn't..or when I was scrapping with my grandchildren.
I have tried to live my life to the fullest becuase of what happened to your folks.
My Kim got me a bluebonnet kitchen towel..I opened it up and started bawling...she said she forgot..those were my friends favories while here in Texas.I know if I cry..you must be on the edge all the time.
You are doing a great job with the girls and Annie..Your mom and dad would be proud of you!!

Steph, thank you so much for the update. We certainly hope that 2011 will be a wonderful year for you. I'm so glad MacKenzie and Annie have become so close. And believe me, dogs do sleep a lot. Eat, sleep, and love. I, too, think about your Mom and Dad often and try to live my life with a little more love each day.

Thank you for providing an update. We're glad to hear your family is healing, although I imagine it is slow and still quite painful at times. We hope 2011 will bring you peace. You and your family continue to be in our hearts and our minds.

Dear Stephanie and family. Thank you again for the update. The pictures of the "grands" are darling. I am sure your folks are smiling down on them each and every day.

Sorry to hear Annie has had a few health issues. Sure glad to hear she is responding to the medication. And I agree with the others, she probably just sleeps all day waiting to have play time with MacKenzie and Zoey.

May you find comfort in knowing that many of us think of your parents often and thus you all. Take care and God Bless!

Zoey and Mackenzie have had a tough time adapting and realizing, but then again so have you. Thanks for letting us know what and how you are doing. May 2011 be far better for you than 2010 was. And please don't stop reporting, as we want to continue to follow what you and the grands are doing.

Well, you have made it through some very difficult holidays and you survived. I'm glad for that. :) Every day forward means there are difficult days behind you.

Don't worry about Annie. We, as humans have a tendency to put human emotions to animals, and really, they don't have them. Annie has no sense of time and she would be sleeping whether you were home or not. Do not feel guilty about that. She is warm, healthy, loved, and her belly is full. Animals don't need more than that.

Be easy on yourselves as you get through this first year without your parents. It gets easier to bear as time goes on, but know that the worst is probably behind you.

Love and strength to you all!

How sweet of you to leave us this message with photos.

I've been thinking of you so much over the holidays and wishing there was a way I could let you know and send you y good wishes wishes.

Glad to hear Annie is enjoying being with you and giving Mackenzie pleasure.

2010 turned into an awful year for you.... the worst possible. I do hope you all have a wonderful fulfilling and prosperous 2011

I am surprised by how often I 'hear' Margie's voice as I write into my Blog. It's an odd experience and shows how I valued her kindness and wisdom.

I think you must have the same wonderful qualities.

Blessings.

I couldn't believe what I was seeing, Bruce and Margie's blog came to life again. Thank you so much for the update.

2010 was a bad year for y'all, and I sincerely hope that 2011 will help you get over all that happened. I know I am still in shock over it, so it must be terible for all of you.

Poor little Annie. I do hope that she feels better. I know, as Margie would, that the correct diet is crucial for her right now.

OH MY GOSH!! I JUST REALIZED IT WAS BRUCE AND MARGIE THAT WERE KILLED. WHEN I READ THE POST DETAILING THE TRAGEDY, IT SAID AT THE END 'POSTED BY MARGIE' SO I DIDNT 'GET' IT..THOUGHT IT WAS MARGIE POSTING ABOUT HER PARENTS/PARENTS IN LAW.

I WAS CONFUSED WHEN I READ ABOUT HOW HAVING ANNIE LIVE WITH THEM WAS SO DIFFERENT--I THOUGHT TO MYSELF 'DIDN'T ANNIE ALWAYS LIVE WITH BRUCE AND MARGIE?'

SO I WENT BACK AND REREAD...WITH HORROR WHEN I REALIZED THE TRUTH.

I DID NOT PERSONALLY KNOW BRUCE AND MARGIE BUT MARGIE INSPIRED ME TO TRY ONE MORE TIME TO LOSE WEIGHT AND I SO LOVED READING HER BLOG.

TO REALIZED THAT SHE AND BRUCE ARE NO LONGER WITH US IS SUCH A SHOCK TO ME BECAUSE I FELT LIKE I KNEW THEM, THEY WERE MY BLOG FRIENDS.

I WAS SHOCKED WHEN I THOUGHT IT WAS THEIR PARENTS, BUT TO FINALLY REALIZE IT WAS THEM--STUNNED.

I AM SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS STEPHANIE AND SORRY THAT I MISUNDERSTOOD. AS FOR YOUR GIRLS IT MUST BE VERY HARD...I KNOW HOW MUCH BRUCE AND MARGIE ENJOYED THEM FROM HER BLOG POSTS.

AND BECAUSE OF MARGIE I'VE LOST 28 POUNDS, A MIRACLE BECAUSE I'D GIVEN UP UNTIL I READ HER STORY.

SHE WAS AN INSPIRATION TO ME AND TO MANY I'M SURE.

MAY THEY BOTH REST IN PEACE AND HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME DISCOVERING HEAVEN.

I just now found out about Margie and Bruce's tragic deaths (from Dinah) and I wanted to come and offer my very late but very deep condolences. Margie was a sweet, sweet soul and was very kind and supportive of me on my blog, always. I cannot believe she is gone. I thought she was just taking a "blogging break" and I am shocked and saddened by this news. She will be remembered always. I am just so sorry for your loss.

I just heard about this and wanted to leave my belated condolences...Margie left me some really sweet and uplifting comments on my weight-loss blog and I always appreciated her taking the time to do that. My deepest sympathies on the loss of your parents.

Stephanie,

I just found out on Friday that your parents passed away. I am so sorry for your loss!

I emailed you on Friday to Margie's old email address...but I don't know if you still or can check that.

Can you let me know what your email address is so I can send it to you? Basically, I bonded with Margie over the last year or so and would love to be able to share some memories with you and to send a doggie care package to Annie.

My email is happyfunpants @ gmail.com

I'm praying for you and your family. I can't imagine how hard everything has been for you all. I want you to know that your mom is definitely not forgotten - and never will be by me.

During a ski holiday, don't catch a cold, catch a warm ski lodge instead.

The Italian slopes are also a great alternative if you enjoy skiing. And like a wise traveller, you must also book an accommodation in advance to better maximize your time in the Italian slopes.

Skiing Italy is almost certainly the option of those in search of winter vacations with sun and fashion but often unnoticed as a ski holiday location versus neighbouring France, Switzerland and Austria. Italy comes with fantastic ski areas, idyllic alpine communities and upmarket skiing. To put it accurately the Dolomites Superski spot offers probably the most runs of any sector anywhere in Europe. Ski housing in Italy is customary, comfortable and sometimes in conventional village residences or some great early hotel. Primarily, ski lodging in Italy is tremendous value. Discover what makes ski housing in Italy special.

Travel around

Airline flight times are a little longer contrary to other Alpine locations. Milan, Turin and Bergamo can be contacted within just two hours, Venice and Brescia take a little longer. Even so transfer mileage to most ski resorts to help you still get through to your ski accommodation in under 5 - 6 hours from the UK. Ski Linate airport transfer companies are readily accessible at all air terminals. Most often (if you don't drive to Courmayeur), driving a car will be a less helpful option. Car route times is often as long as 14 - 16 hours based upon your ski vacation destination in Italy.

Ski Housing in Italy

Italy happens to be identified for great catered accommodation and fine foodstuff. In Italy there's a simple good mixture of hotels and ski chalets and several living spaces. You will discover minimal purpose-build blocks and discover mostly demand a small stroll or a ski bus to go to ski lift and ski slopes. Italy is also endowed with awesome historic hotels, many boasting substantial terraces that you can like your lunch or apres-ski under the sun. Many of the so-called Pensions (larger B&Bs) recently improved to hotel standard, adding fitness services along the way. Catered ski lodging in Italy quite often comes with impressive cooking. Italian cuisine and in particular the various pasta meals are the ultimate skiing diet.

Skiing

There are several well known ski areas in Italy and many very large interconnected ski areas like the Milky Way composed of Cesana, Claviere, Sansicario, Sauze d'Oulx and Sestriere and presenting 400km of piste. The Dolomites Super Ski Area comprising Selva Val Gardena, Val Di Fassa, Folgarida, Madonna di Campiglio, Alta Badia, Arraba, Alleghe and Cortina has more than 1200 kms of pistes, but not all interlinked. Regardless of whether you're a skiing newbie or a professional skier, you will in all probability acquire slopes to cater for your needs.

Ski Housing Expense

Ski accommodation in Italy is usually good value and mostly more cost effective than neighbouring France, Austria and Switzerland. Very cheap cost preference is frequently other possible traditional exclusive B&Bs and Pensions delivering half-board deals. Eating out is not high-priced and fine Italian food is easily available in many of the conventional eateries and mountain refuges. If you have dinner out at night you will need to budget £15 for dinner, £4 for a pint and £2 for a soft drink.

Find to find your ski lodging in Italy. You finalize on single, quick request form, Your requirement is contributed with all appropriate and signed up ski accommodation companies. Managers can send a quote and you may select the one which may match you. Even if it is not ski housing in Italy.

There are other ski destinations indeed, but to ski in Italy and to savour the food and ambiance of the country is more than enough to give the Italian slopes a try.
