Love the economy!

Anyone want to buy a motorhome???

Who would've thought it would be so difficult to get the "beast" a new home.  Such a big, beautiful and well taken care of motorhome should be a steal of a deal for someone out there.  I'm sure my dad is telling me to hang in there and the right person will come along.

Many of you have asked about Annie.  She is still doing well and seems happy with the girls.  She is having a culture shock living in a home with us and also that we are away from home a lot.  She had quite the life with mom & dad.  We are loving her as best we can and hope she is happy.  Mackenzie has really stepped up and takes her for walks, feeds her and even gives her medicine.  Grandma would be so proud.

I will try and post a picture of her as soon as I can.

  1. Thanks for the update, Stephanie. It's great to hear that Annie is doing fine and especially good to hear that MacKenzie is taking her for her walks. I'm sure Annie is very happy with the 'Grands' looking after her.

Motorhomes can be difficult to sell sometimes as they have quite a limited audience of interest. It's in good shape, so I'm sure that someone will come along and give it a good home!

  2. RVs can be very hard to sell because they depreciate so much, especially after being purchased new. Hang in there, Stephanie, and the right buyer will come along. It sounds like Annie is doing well in your active family. How are Mackenzie and Zoey doing? I'm sure the upcoming holidays will be hard for all of you, but remember that all of us out in "blogville" are thinking of you and praying for you.

  3. We really hope that the right person comes along and buys their home from you. They will come...just believe.

Your parents death really put us into an entirely different state of mind. We think about them often and try to live our lives now entirely differently and hopefully better than ever before.

Thank you for sharing, we hope your holidays ahead are peaceful.

  4. As others have said, the motor home will sell, it just might take a little while.

Glad to hear Annie is doing well. I am sure she is getting lots of loven from the girls. So happy to hear Mackenzie has really taken an interest in her.

Please give the girls a hug from this Grammy. No one can have too many of them. As Kimberly and others have said, we think of your folks quite often and thus keep you in our prayers. Know that we are all here if you need an ear to listen or suggestions about the beast.

Wishing you lots of love this coming week.

  6. Thanks for keeping us in touch, so Glad to hear that Annie is doing fine and that the girls are helping out, with Mackenzie being the older she will step up to the plate first in a lot of things, but I'm sure little sister Zoey will be right behind her. This is a bad time of the year to sell an RV I'm sure when the Spring rolls around it will attract interest, make sure and try Craigslist and the Local auto trader paper, you would be amazed how many vehicles sell quickly when listed in those. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna.

  7. We're glad to hear Annie is doing well. I hope you all get through the difficult holiday season.

Try to be patient on the selling of the motor home. I wish we could buy it, because I know it's a nice one. Do you guys know that you need to winterizing a motor home?

Take care Stephanie and give the girls and Annie a hug.

  8. So glad to hear Annie is doing well, - and selling the rig may take time being a tuff time of the year. Keep the faith that the right owners will come along to love it and care for it just as your parents did.

My heart jumps into my throat each time I see a post from this blog come into my view, and think of your pareants often. Thank you for keeping us all in the loop!

  9. As others have said, it will sell at some point. Like all such sales, it will need to be priced right. If you check other listings of coaches, you can get a good feel for the right price. Some are saying that RV sales are improving.

There are some reliable dealers who will list on a consignment basis. I would say this is the second best option money wise, but can take the stress of selling less.

The last option would be to wholesale it to a dealer. If you can hold onto it for a while, I would say that is the last option,as it will net the least for the coach.

    Good luck.

  10. Stephanie, it's all been said by those who got here earlier, but we sure agree with them. And we do miss your folks and their travel stories, their love of their lifestyle and of their family. Best to you all!

  11. Thank you for the update, Stephanie and please know that all your Mum and Dad's readers really do appreciate it. Glad to hear Annie is doing well. I am sure the MH will sell in the spring. We think of your family often.

  12. I would post your email address in case anyone here or in the motorhome world might know of someone who would be interested. It's gonna be word-of-mouth that gets you a buyer, I would think.

Annie will be fine. She is used to being alone for awhile because I think your mom and dad were active with things and probably left her alone for periods of time. I think a lot of times, we put our emotions to animals and they don't feel like we do. I think you can rest assured that as long as her needs are met and she is well-loved (which I'm SURE she is!), she is happy. I'm sure she is loving all the attention from the girls. :)

Hugs and blessings for the upcoming holidays, pally, for I'm sure they will be difficult for all. I pray you find strength in the days ahead.

  13. I also think Craig's list could be an option for selling the motorhome. Yes, this is a rough economy right now, but hang in there. Thanks for the update about Annie..I think she is a good focus for your girls in the absence of Grama and Grandpa..
We hope your holidays ahead will find you and yours at peace.

  14. It will sell, but it will take some patience. I didn't think my 5th wheel would ever sell, but after 3 months it finally did. Sad to say I could never afford a big (or a small) motorhome, much less drive and maintain one. The right person is out there though.

I still have your mom's cell phone # in my contact list and I get a jolt whenever I see it. I just can't remove it though.

Glad to hear that Annie is doing well, and that the kids are helping with her. And how are YOU doing, Stephanie? I sometimes worry about you because you have probably been the hardest hit by what happened. Take care of yourself too.

  15. Thank you so much for the update, Stephanie. My heart leaped when I saw it on the blog roll.

NADA is not always too accurate about the value of RV's. They usually bring less than NADA value. But you have to list all the options it has, to make it seem better than others that are advertised in that price range. If anyone is coming to see it, plug it in a few hours ahead of time, and turn on the fridge. Then they can feel that the fridge works. It is one of the most expensive things to replace on an RV, and buyers know that.

Most of all, I am so happy to hear about Annie. I have worried how she would adjust to her new life.

Have a safe and happy holiday.

  18. Sorry to hear you are having so much trouble getting rid of the beast. Hopefully soon the perfect person will come along!

Glad to hear the doggy is well, and I agree with others.

  19. So glad to hear from you Stephanie!
I am so glad to hear Annie is adjusting to her new home. I know your parents would be so glad to hear how well you and the "grands" are taking care of her.

Hang in there with the motorhome. The right person WILL come along. This is the off season for camping but after Christmas and even toward spring you should get some serious interest/buyer. Price it right and it will sell.

Sending our love and prayers as you and your sweet family enter into this first holiday season without Bruce and Margie. Hugs to all of you!!

  21. By all means, list the beast for sale on the blog. Then then the readers can help you critique the ad, so that you are advertising it to it's full advantage. It could easily take 1-12 months to sell it, especially since you are hitting winter now. Take a ton of pictures of it inside and out, especially showing details, the more pictures the better, just focus on every little thing, the seat, the couch, the stove, the microwave, the toilet, the shower, the faucet, the generator, the engine, the pillow, you want to show enough pics to make it become someone else dream turned into a reality.

God bless you, it's been a really tough time for your family and for all of us who loved your parents.

  31. Are you still trying to sell the Beast? My family may be interested, we have been looking for a few months at used ones. If it is for sale still, can you please put some pics up as well as the main stats, milage, upkeep, etc, that would be great.
