Walk to McD’s and Update On Annie

We woke up to a very foggy morning.  The folks on the L.A. news channel said there was early morning fog all along the coast.  Yeah, we could see that just by looking out our window.

We drove up to San Luis Obispo to go to church.  We checked the website and it said they had a service at 10:00 and 11:00.  We decided to go to the one at 10:00.  We got up there and they had listed on their sign by the parking lot:  Services at 8:50 and 11:00.  OK, so we didn’t feel like waiting around for an hour and 15 minutes so we drove back home.  Better luck next Sunday.

By the time we got back home the fog had cleared and the sun was shining.  It’s Sunday and a lot of the weekenders are heading out of the park.  The others will probably be leaving tomorrow morning.  We decided to take a walk over to McDonald’s and get an ice cream.  Last winter when we were here I received a comment from somebody who knows the area and they put us on to a short-cut.  (thanks)  We usually went the longer route so we thought we’d give this short-cut a try.

The short-cut means walking across the railroad tracks.DSCF6679

When we got to McDonald’s we found out their ice cream machine wasn’t working.  Dang it!  So we went for the next best choice and got a Yogurt Parfait.  Then we walked back home to see our little friend, Annie.

Among her other issues, seems Annie has a bit of an incontinence problem now.  Great.  Now we have to have the smell of dog pee in the motorhome.  Just what we need.  It isn’t a big problem yet, just some leakage while she sleeps in her various dog beds, but I fear it could become a larger issue.  Especially since she sleeps a lot these days.  What to do about this?  Not sure.  I’ve washed and washed again her dog bed covers and her “blankie” that she sleeps with.  We stopped at Petco in San Luis this morning and bought her a new daytime bed with a vinyl bottom to keep anything from seeping down into the carpet.  I saw they have Doggie Depends at the store, but is she ready for that yet?  If we have to get the Depends I won’t have her wear them outdoors…..all the other dogs will laugh at her.  By the way, don’t let on to Annie I told you all about this problem.  She could get embarrassed about it and I wouldn’t want to do that to her.

Annie sleeps a lot these days.   ZZzzzzzzzz.DSCF2916

Well, that’s all the excitement going on around here.  Just a lack of ice cream, too much morning fog, and a bunch of dog pee.  Wheee!  Isn’t life exciting?

Until next time……so long for now!

  1. Poor Annie. I don't know if you actually intend on going the Depends route, but there are puppy pads called 'Absorbz' that are sold at pet stores (cheaper in bulk at Costco) that you can lay over her doggie bed cushion. They're disposable, don't take up a lot of space (think storage-wise) and absorb quite well.

  3. Awww, poor Annie. I feel for her. My day was almost as exciting as yours, but not quite. :) No fog, no dog pee, and I don't care much for ice cream.

  5. Do they have medication that can help Annie? Might want to ask a vet. Poor Annie. I have the same problem when I sneeze expectantly.

  7. Gee, two setbacks in one day - church and McD's. Actually three, if you count Annie's problem. I sympathize with you - it is really difficult to get it out of the carpet.

  8. Poor Annie. To get rid of the pee smell, go to a pet store and get some "Nature's Miracle". That will definately get rid of the smell for you.

  9. I just hope Annie's feeling o.k. and this little problem isn't causing her any pain or discomfort. It's tough for those who have to clean up, but just look at Annie and I'm sure you'll agree it's all worth it!!

  10. Hey Margie there is a medication that I used on our old farm dog and it worked great. It was a few years ago and I can't remember the name of it. She had a very bad problem with alot of leakage and it fixed it completly. So check with a vet. and I have also used the Natures Miracle and it also worked great.

  11. I'm with Brenda, whatever it was the vet gave us fixed up Sox right quick and she was good for another 3 or 4 years, and eventually we weaned her off the stuff and had no reoccurrences.

  12. From your pictures of the railroad tracks, it looked like the fog burned off later in the day. Do you get a lot of fog there this time of the year?

  14. You might want to check with a Vet about Annie's problem. My Mother in law had a dog that also leaked urine. It turned out she had stones in her bladder (huge ones) and there was no more room for the urine so she leaked. They were removed and she never had any more problems. I don't think it should just be attributed to old age. Very cute picture of her!

  16. The Arroyo Grande Vet Clinic in Arroyo Grande (It's just a drive down Grand Avenue) is a good vet to help you with Annie's "little problem."

  17. Ohhh I second the Natures Miracle line of products. Tall white bottles with red lettering. They have deodorizers, stain killers (works great even on people stains on clothes) and one called Odor Destroyer.

Once, after worming pills, our young collie had about 50 blobs of loose diarrhea all over my NEW creamy white livingroom carpeting! Nature's Miracle took it all out and you would never have known it the next day.

  18. At least you got in the walk to McD's, even if it was shorter. Probably more fun, skipping over the tracks and pretending to be escaping a speeding train bearing down on you. Don't get your foot caught in the track!

  19. Poor Annie, I hope she will be ok!

  20. Wondering with that Natures Miracle works for Cats too! A few times Lucky peed out of the litter box. Took him to vet. No physical problem. Said it was physchological! Great a schitzo cat! Said he was probably mad at us.

I am sure Annie would never pee around the MH because she is mad at you! Dogs are too nice to do that. Cats can be just mean!!!
