Had to get up at 6:00 this morning to be ready for our appointment at 8:00 with the Camping World folks. It was no big deal, we just wanted to get the new Surge Guard installed. The parking lot at Camping World was very full of RV’s but there didn’t seem to be much service going on. Maybe they were all parked and just waiting for parts, I’m not sure.
After we checked in, we drove the car over to McDonald’s to get some breakfast and coffee. I wanted to make sure that “Anonymous” saw that I could bust a smile for my Cup of Joe in the morning!
After a quick breakfast we hurried back to Camping World to pick up the motorhome and get back on our way. We checked out the Surge Guard where it had been installed and it looked just fine. We made a couple of other purchases (don’t you always at CW?) and were out the door ASAP.
Once we got down to Eugene we turned West on Hwy. 126 toward the coast. Of course, there was a bunch of road construction going on which slowed us down. Seems like an annual summer event no matter which road we take.
We had planned to stop for the night at The Mill Casino in North Bend (near Coos Bay). We have stayed here a few times, but were always in the FHU RV park sites. This time we decided to try their dry camping lot. They ask that you check in at the RV office, but there is no charge for dry camping and you can stay more than one day if you want. The dry lot was filled with about 20 to 25 RV’s today, but still plenty of room for us.
This is the dry camping lot which is very large.
Here we are in our space for the night (3rd from the left).
The actual RV park is very nice. The Trailer Life Book lists a rate of $28 to $45, but we’ve never paid that much. If you get the casino Player’s Card (it is free) you get a much better rate. The park has full hook-up spaces, 70 are pull-thrus. They have 30/50 amp service, WiFi, cable TV, restrooms and showers. I’m not doing an RV park review because we are not staying in the RV park this time.
Long pull-thru sites with FHU.
We went into the casino tonight to grab a quick dinner. We ate at the sports bar and got chili cheese dogs, which are certainly not on any healthy eating plan I know of…..but they sure were good! It will be an early to bed night for us. We’re just tired today.
Tomorrow morning we’ll be driving down to Klamath, California where we will be staying at one of our member parks for 2 nights. There is no rain predicted for tomorrow, so we should have a nice drive. It will be fun to be able to check out this RV park that we have never been to before.
Until next time…..so long for now!
We're needing to get a surge guard too. Sounds like they got it installed pretty quick...wonder if it would be something a semi handy person could do? Glad you're traveling again...love to see the places you're seeing.
ReplyDeleteI'm eagerly following along on your journey. I am glad you are on the road since we aren't! At least I can travel vicariously. ;)
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a good sleep tonight. Highway 101 is a busy road, but we didn't have any trouble sleeping when we stayed at Mill Casino RV Park in July.
It's the same story all across the country - ROAD CONSTRUCTION. But think of how good the roads are going to be next year!
ReplyDeleteI see you met our friends, too..the ones in the orange vests with the big red signs..your rig looks mighty fine..third from the left..probably happy to be out on the open road..feeling the wind on his sides!!!
ReplyDeleteI read all of this..and All I could think of was the yummy chilit hot dog..oh yeah man!!!I am in!!!
ReplyDeleteSmiling!!! Love your smile!!
Cindy and Walker
Great smile!!! Keep it up ☺
ReplyDeleteYou must be so happy to be back on the road again...2 more days for us. We will be making a CW stop too, need some new captain and co seats and we are starting there.
ReplyDeleteAlso, make sure to check out our website regarding reviews on RVParking.com, we thought of you first thing when we found that site, you are the best reveiwer, after me of course...LOL!
I find it almost impossible to get out of a CW store without buying at least some type of new gadget. That surge guard is a good idea too, I may look for one of those during our trip.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could muster up a smile for the camera that early in the morning - well done!!
Looks to be a pretty nice RV Park too.
Nice to see you on the road again!
ReplyDeleteKimberly and Jerry: Thanks for the reviewing compliment... :) I always forget to go over to RV park review.com and leave one there. :(
ReplyDeleteI am prescribing more java for you. A smiles fits you well.
ReplyDeleteContinued safe travels!
Thanks for the post about the surge guard, Margie! That is something that we will need and I have been checking out online. Great picture of it.
ReplyDeleteAlways nice to be on the road again with a destination in mind.
ReplyDeleteWe have the Surge Guard installed on our motorhome and find it gives us a piece of mind. You'll be glad you have it.
ReplyDeleteNice to have the option of camping without hookups. In this area we don't have many camping options period. Nice place!!
Have fun ya'll!!!!

I must tell McGuyver about the surge guard...I have no clue what the heck it is...
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great place to spend the night, if you do not lose to much in the casino.
ReplyDeleteYou make me want to be on the road, eating at McDonald's and checking out new sights! I love the sausage biscuit and capucino. (So you see why I am still battling with my weight.)
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you back on the road again! =)
ReplyDeleteHope you got a good nights rest so you can try your luck at the casino! Best wishes!
Enjoy yourselves!
