Waiting

It seems that another storm is brewing off the California coast.  So, we're just waiting.  We woke up this morning and took off on our walk just at daybreak.  By the time we'd walked for an hour, the sun was shining brightly.  It was quite cold, however.  It was only 36F when we set out for the walk.  Even now, it is barely 59F outside.  (3:30 pm)

As I look out the RV window toward the west, I see a blanket of cloud cover, but no rain yet.  Yesterday afternoon, we walked down by the beach dunes and it was nice and sunny.  This tree got my attention.  He is a "gnarly old dude" that has most likely been here a long time.  His bark is all but totally worn off from winds and blowing sand while, over the many years, he's held his post on the dunes.

Later in the afternoon, this view by the gazebo here at Pismo Coast Village was pleasant.  Not so much today as everything appears more gray this afternoon.  The gray sky is blending into the gray sea.

Tomorrow we expect more rain.  Time will tell.  In the meantime, we're just living the good life here at the beach.

Until next time....so long for now!

  1. It is a bit cooler than normal here too, but it was sure nice to have a day of sunshine. Hope the rain doesn't materialize up there for you!

  2. Heavy rains here in NJ today. BUT it is almost 60 out. This warmed temp will only last one day.

We take off Sunday morning headed to Livingston TX. Will stay there about a week and then head back to Louisiana for several weeks.

Lots to do in the next several days.

  3. Margie, your gnarly old dude of a tree posed just right, and you captured its spirit beautifully in your shot. We'd have been taking pix of it too. So would Howard Payne -- he loves to take pix of dead trees, or trees that appear to be dead. Glad you got to it first.

  5. Love the tree!! Glad you spotted it and gave it recognition.

We just had horrible rain/wind all day Sunday. It was awful but it has passed and today was beautiful. I hope your rains come and go swiftly.

    Keep enjoying the good life!!
