HARK... . What Is That I See?

Around 3:00 this afternoon we had a strange sight.....it was an old familiar friend...the SUN.  It had rained hard and steadily almost all day today and I wasn't sure we'd see our old friend ever again.  Sure enough, there he was!

I grabbed my camera to document this unusual sighting in case it didn't last long.  I was surprised to see so many folks out walking about already.  It was like somebody lifted a dark veil from our faces.  Our moods seemed brighter and the people walking were having animated conversations with their companions.  Gosh, it just gave me a warm, fuzzy feeling all over.  :)

I walked up to the beach path and I was met with a long debris field left over from the storm.

I saw a lot of people already walking on the beach trying to take advantage of what "could be" a small window of clear skies.

The storm surge channeled the river, flowing from the lagoon to the ocean, closer to the dunes and the ice plant growing there.

Before heading back to the MH, I walked to the north section of our RV park and observed lots of ducks swimming around in the lagoon having a "ducky" time.

From this vantage point I shot a picture of the pier and then I turned toward the south to take a final pic before going back home.

It just felt so good to be outdoors again.  Exhilarating, actually.  We've had a long stretch of lousy days, with plenty of rain and fierce winds.  Hopefully, it will be over for a while.  If we could just get a few days of sunshine, it will be great.  So how's your day been going?

Until next time.....so long for now!

  1. Hi Margie... I am finally feeling up to visiting my bloggin buddies... Love where you’re at even if the weather has been yucky! I think it is bad all over this country... We had several nice days but the freezing weather is headed this way again. Hopefully the doctor will release me this week and we'll be on our way down into Texas... Have a fun filled day and travel safe!

  2. I know what you mean about the sun lifting people's spirits. Today, when the sun came out for a bit, I took the pups to the dog park. It seemed like every dog in the park was there to take advantage of the respite from the rain. I sure hope the sun continues for you up at Pismo Beach!
