Woke up this morning at 6:30 and it was 7 degrees outdoors. It was only supposed to be down to about 15 degrees.....the National Weather Service lied to me. I'm getting a bit discouraged with all of this....still no water. "Sammy Sunshine" (aka: Bruce) is just fine, planning to drive out this afternoon and get some propane refilled for the MH. His message to me this morning, "We're still warm."
Flashback to yesterday afternoon: We were getting the water going and thawing everything out around 4:00 pm. I got the washer started to wash the rags and towels we'd been using outside for all of this mess. Things were looking good and then I started to wash some dishes that had piled up. Turned on the faucet...nothing, nada. It was working a minute ago. I quickly called out the window to Bruce that the water stopped again. After inspection, we realized that it wasn't us this time.
Bruce walked over to where he saw Bill, the manager, working at the park laundry room. Seemed that the water pipes for the park had broken and he shut off all the water. I guess he was in a hurry to get the water main shut off and didn't have time to give a warning. OK....."UNCLE" I cried!
We packed up some things for dinner and went to our daughter's house to fix dinner and eat with them. We're getting ready to head back over there now for morning showers. This whole routine is getting pretty tiresome.
But "Sammy Sunshine" is still smiling and being cheerful. I guess that is a good thing.
Until next time......so long for now!
Sometimes I guess it would be convenient to just draw up a bucket of water from the well and heat it on the stove! It can't stay cold forever, but the nerve of those weather forecasters!
ReplyDeleteOh Margie! We'll try to close the freezer door that seems to be open from our neck of the woods! So much for global warming. The southern areas will feel that much better when you get there! - Don and Kim
ReplyDeleteSouthern California is going to feel all that much better in a few weeks. This cold weather will be but a distant memory - at least I sure hope so, because we'll be there too!!
ReplyDeleteBrrrr! Our park's water was turned off the other day, with no warning. Seems like a water main had broken and the maintenance guys' attention was needed on the job rather than running up and down telling us we didn't have any water. We already knew anyway.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! I can only imagine how "old" all that is getting. I am ready for the weather to get back to a "normal" state. We are in the south for goodness sake and it is cold here, last night 25.
ReplyDeleteGlad your daughter is so close, that is a great help. Believe it or not "Sammy Sunshine" helps keep your spirits from a total meltdown (excuse the term)a great compliment. Mike is that way with me also.
You hang in there and as Gypsy said...its got to end sometime.
Stay warm,
Gerri
Hi Margie!! It's been a rough winter hasn't it!! Oh...and "winter" is season-wise not here yet...ugh! Wish I was in Florida....I think, but its too late this year. Hang in there Margie!! ((hugs))
