We decided to take a quick drive over to this little town and check it out. We've driven through it on previous trips to WDW, but we've not parked and walked around. This planned community was developed by the Walt Disney Company and it shows. It's just a little too perfect. The first phase of homes was ready for sale in 1996. Since then the town has developed more fully and other neighborhoods have been built, all different. When we got back home, we checked out a local real estate website for home prices. We found them to range from approximately $600,000 to $4,500,000....yes...that is millions! Those homes are in the Acadia Estate neighborhood. Here are some photos of the homes in the different neighborhoods.....
The movie theater in town shows a decided Art Deco design style and is really very beautiful to look at.
As the community grew in population, Disney relinquished control over most of the town. The town has it's own Fire Department, Post Office, 7 churches, and schools. Interesting place, that's for sure, but one I don't want to live in. What do you think?
Until next time.....so long for now!

Celebration looks a little too sterile for me! It needs a few "junkers" parked on the street and a also a few mickey d's wrappers blowing around. Nice pics of the homes though.
Beautiful town, but not for us poor country folk. I shouldn't say poor because our 2500 sq ft brick ranch has become a monster to maintain, without the need for 4 bedrooms and 4 baths. I tell people Rigg's could have his own bath if he wanted. W can't wait for it to sell and dowsize, really downsize.Be safe out there. Sam & Donna.
Interesting assessment of Celebration village. I guess the recession hasn't affected those housing prices!
Too rich for my blood. I'd have to hire servants to take care of all my servants! I'll take the SKP Saguaro Park in Benson any day!
I agree with you wholeheartedly, andf it isn't my kind of place either.
And here I sit in my little 38' fifthwheel!
Very pretty, well manicured but way more sterile than I like. Oh, did I mention pricey? Not our cup of tea. I could just see you grin as you saw those mommies pushing strollers. :)
Have fun and thanks for the stroll through town.

stepford wives is a good analogy!!.I love the houses though..pretty nice!!!
Pretty place to visit, wouldn't want to live there, the expectation of a perfectly manicured lawn and home would drive me nuts! Besides, that's way out of my price league! wow.
nice pictures tho.
I was thinking Stepford Wives too, but then Children of the Corn came to mind. A bit creepy isn't it.
